The Expenses of Living life on the Road

On my previous topic we talked about how you could ‘Financially Support your Nomadic Lifestyle’. Now I want to get into the different types of expenses you should expect when considering a life on the road.

Costs of living is a serious topic and should be approached with a reasonable plan and budget. Your goal shouldn’t be to break even on bills & expenses every time. Instead you should plan to be earning more than your spending. That way you can be building up your savings account for more travelling, or in case you were to ever run into problems down the road (it happens and it’s better to be safe then sorry) :hammer_and_wrench::skull_and_crossbones:

Keep in mind:

This topic will NOT tell you how much you will end up spending on a nomadic lifestyle. As this greatly depends on a bunch of factors (location, situation, lifestyle, person, etc…). Rather, it is to explore the different types of expenses you should consider. This topic is intended to help you come up with a reasonable budget & will breakdown the different types of expenses for you. It is your responsibility to pick and chose the expenses you think will affect you, then do some research to come up with a budget plan. Feel free to reply to this topic to ask questions about the costs, based on your situation. Don’t let this huge list of expenses scare you. We exaggerated it to include as many expenses as we can. So you can take everything into consideration. Keep in mind not every single item on the following list will apply to you, and your situation. :family_man_woman_girl_boy:

Let’s get started…

This will be broken up into 3 categories…

  • Startup Expenses - Buying your home on wheels, converting it into a livable home, etc… (generally a one time cost)

  • Monthly Expenses - Recurring expenses (insurance, memberships, etc…)

  • Day to Day and other expenses - Everyday living essentials (food, parking, maintenance, or other costs that could pop out of nowhere)

Finally, with all that out of the way. Below you can find the list of Costs/Expenses of Living Life on the Road
